INVITATIONS  (Folded or Flat)

About the product

Proudly announce your wedding to your loved ones and give them a glimpse of your stunning wedding venue and help set the tone for your big day with your own unique illustrated invitations.

What you get

The Day or Evening Invitation comprises either a folded cover with the invitation wording printed on the inside or a flat card with the illustration on the front and optional crest/motif on the reverse.  Both are supplied with a quality matching plain envelope.

Folded Invitation - the cover

Typically, this will feature either the Day or Evening Invitation title above the sketch with you and your partner’s name together with the name of the venue underneath the sketch. These can be printed in a colour of your choice to match the theme of the wedding. This is usually printed in a colour and typestyle of your choice, on one of our five hand-selected cards in white, ivory and cream and in different finishes.

Folded Invitation - inside text

The main text for the Invitation wording is generally printed in black or pencil grey and we usually print you and your partner’s names in colour.  Above the invitation wording on the inside, you can have an optional crest/floral motif with your and your partners names and date of wedding.

Flat Invitation

This is where we feature the sketch at the top or bottom of the card, with the full invitation wording on the front as well.  We usually include a border with our flat invitations.  An optional crest/floral motif with your and your partners names and date of wedding can be printed on the reverse.

Size

In most cases the Invitation will be 7” by 5” (178mm by 127mm) when folded (or flat) and in landscape. There may be times when the actual sketch of the venue lends itself better to a portrait style and in some cases a square layout, in which case the invitation will be 147mm by 147mm.  We are happy to advise once we know which venue your wedding will be at.

Typestyle

There is a choice of eight typestyles to offer a blend of modern and contemporary with classic and traditional.  These can be viewed here.

Wording & Layout options

There are various layouts you can choose for the wording of your invitation, depending on whether you and your partner are the hosts or whether the invitation will be coming from one or both sets of parent(s). We are more than happy to help you with this and you will receive proofs (and amended proofs as necessary) until you are completely happy with the layout.  We have provided some examples of different invitation wording here.

Timing Schedule

You may be thinking of sending out your invitations package 3-6 months before your wedding date and we are seeing a trend of even earlier than this, especially if a Save the Date Card has not been sent. Please ask us if we have your venue already sketched as this will save time – please bear in mind our artist can be in strong demand during certain times of the year so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. We can always hold your commissioned sketch on file until you are ready to let us have the details for your invitations.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Personalisation: This is a very popular request to finish off your bespoke stationery.  It also makes the guest especially thought of when they see they name has been printed inside the Invitation and of course make a great first impression when their names and address are printed in a stylist font on the front of the wedding envelope.

The personalisation charge includes your guest names printed on the invitation plus their names and address on the front of the envelope with your names and date of wedding printed on the reverse flap.

Envelopes: You may upgrade from the plain wove envelope to our luxury envelopes which are made from the same stock as the Save the Date card to co-ordinate a matching theme throughout your stationery.  These are available for an additional £1.00 per card.

2nd sketch: You may wish to commission a second sketch (for example a church if this is where you are getting married before the reception at your venue, or a prominent feature of the venue (a statue, water fountain etc).  The second sketch can then be combined with your Invitation as an alternative to the crest or floral motif which we normally print above the invitation wording on the folded invitation or on the reverse of the flat invitation.

Information Cards: These are ideal to provide your guests with important information that will help their planning for your wedding such as contact details for the venue, directions, local taxis, accommodation and a short message to cover off any details on the wedding gifts.  For more information on the Information Card, please click here.
